90 Second Task
![]() | How does globalization affect job opportunities for young people today? |
Globalization significantly impacts job opportunities for young people, mainly through heightened competition and evolving technology.
First, globalization means young job seekers like myself compete globally, not just locally. For instance, when I applied for a marketing job in the UK, I found out I was competing against candidates from India and Brazil. This is because companies now hire worldwide, seeking the best talent. This scenario requires us to have strong skills and unique qualities, such as language proficiency or cultural understanding, to stand out.
Second, technological advancements, driven by globalization, have created new job sectors while making some traditional ones obsolete. Careers like social media management, app development, and cybersecurity are modern fields that didn’t exist a few years ago. However, this rapid change means that young people, including me, need to constantly update our skills to stay relevant. Skills that were important just a few years back may no longer be enough today.
In summary, globalization presents both challenges and opportunities for young job seekers like us. It leads to a competitive environment but also introduces innovative career paths, requiring ongoing learning and adaptability. This global landscape has certainly made my own job search more dynamic and demanding.

I can't imagine my life without a smartphone. It's like a trusty companion that I rely on for so many things.
Firstly, it keeps me connected to friends and family. Whether through calls, texts, or social media, I can always stay in touch. It's incredible how this little device bridges the gap between us, no matter where they are.
Moreover, my smartphone is a productivity tool. I manage my emails, appointments, and even work on documents while on the go. It's like having a portable office, which is incredibly convenient, especially during business trips.
But it's not just about work – it's also about learning and staying informed. I can read news, access educational resources, and even pick up new skills through various apps. It's like carrying a library in my pocket, available 24/7.
In conclusion, my smartphone is an essential part of my life. It keeps me connected, productive, and well-informed. I truly can't imagine navigating today's world without it.
![]() | What is the biggest environmental problem we face today? |
Climate change is a critical issue today, mainly driven by increasing greenhouse gas emissions, mostly from burning fossil fuels. This leads to higher global temperatures, melting polar ice, and rising sea levels, particularly affecting coastal areas and islands.
Additionally, changing weather patterns result in extreme events like floods and droughts, impacting agriculture and food production. Rapid climate shifts threaten biodiversity, as species struggle to adapt, causing a loss with far-reaching consequences.
Addressing climate change requires global efforts, transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. Individual actions, though small, contribute to a necessary shift for our planet's preservation.
